Manual Task

If after the deployment is done and any post deployment changes such as changing the configuration files manually or manual test execution etc. are to be done, then add a manual task. The following screen is displayed on adding a manual task.

Fill in the required details:

Name

Enter any name of your choice for the manual task being created. Note: Only letters, numbers, underscores (_), and periods (.) are permitted.

Assign To

You can assign the task by selecting an option from the drop-down menu labeled "Assign To".

User – The user can be selected from the available list of users for completing the task. Role - The task can be completed by any user with the user role that is selected. Custom – Use a condition or rule to assign dynamically.

Story Assignee – The person assigned to the related user story.

Promoter – You can assign manual tasks to the promoter (user story or release package) within the release pipeline.

Description

Any message that is to be conveyed to the task performer can be mentioned here.

Story Assignee

The task will be assigned to the user who is the assignee of the related story in the pipeline

Disable Email Notification

Users will not receive the approval email link but will get a notification only about the final status (approved/rejected).

Note: The Manual Tasks assigned to a user appear under his/her My Tasks section upon logging in to ReleaseOwl. The user has to click Complete after executing the task manually.
