  • User: Select a specific user from the available list.

    • The selected user will be responsible for reviewing and approving the Test Evidence task.

  • Role: Select a role instead of a specific user.

    • Any user assigned to the selected role can approve the Test Evidence task.

    • This option is useful when approvals are role-based rather than individual-specific.

  • Custom: Allows greater flexibility by letting you define custom component-role mappings for approval.

    • The Test Evidence task can be approved by any user associated with the custom-defined roles for each component.

    • Different components can have different approver roles, depending on project requirements.

  • Note: The following options are available only under the Custom assignment type.

  • Export Roles: This feature allows you to download and save the current role assignments (i.e., the list of components and their associated roles) as a file.

  • Import Roles: This option allows you to upload a previously exported roles file in another release pipeline.

Click the “+” (Add) button to open a popup window.

    In the popup:

    • Click the Add button to save the custom component-role mapping.
